Privacy Notice

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This Privacy Notice describes how The Meals Deal ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use https://themealsdeal.com (the "Site"), and the rights and choices available to you, including under US state privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Emails: if you email us, we receive your email address, name (if provided) and your message.

Meal plan requests: when you submit our free meal plan request form, we collect your first name and email address (required); phone number (optional); household size, dinners per week, dietary needs and kitchen equipment you select; any notes you add (such as food allergies or dislikes); the date and time of your request; and your confirmation that you are 18 or older and agree to our use of this information. If you include food allergy or health-related details in your notes, you choose to provide them and we use them only to tailor your plan.

We use meal plan request information only to create and email your plan and respond to follow-up questions. We do not use it for marketing, add you to a mailing list, sell it, or share it for targeted advertising. Each request is emailed to our team, and a backup copy is kept in a restricted, non-public directory on our web server.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server log information (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. If we enable analytics or advertising services, those providers may collect device identifiers, browsing activity on the Site, and approximate location through cookies and similar technologies.

Recipe cost calculator

Our cost calculator runs entirely in your browser. The values you enter are not sent to us or stored by us.

2. How we use information

3. Cookies, analytics and Google advertising

We may use Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Ads on the Site.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. See our Cookies & Tracking page for details.

4. How we share information

We share personal information with service providers that help us operate the Site, such as our web host and email provider, under obligations to protect it. If we enable analytics or advertising, information collected by cookies may be shared with those providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of advertising cookies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising under some state laws. You can opt out at any time — see section 6.

5. Data retention

We keep meal plan requests and emails for up to 12 months, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we must keep them by law. Server logs are retained according to our host's settings, and analytics and advertising data according to the providers' settings.

6. Your US state privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to:

How to exercise your rights: email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you'd like to do. We'll verify your request by confirming it from the email address associated with your information. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy appeal," and we'll respond within the time required by law.

Opt-out: visit Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out request.

California "Shine the Light": we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Meal plan requests must be submitted by someone 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption and store meal plan requests in a restricted folder on our server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Do Not Track

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There's no common industry standard for these, so we respond to Global Privacy Control signals as described above instead.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, provide a notice on the Site.
